The first court appearance following a DUI arrest is called an arraignment. This appearance presents you with your first opportunity to plead “guilty,” “not guilty,” or “nolo contendere” (no contest) to any criminal charge.

Arraignments San Bernardino Courthouse for DUI charges at are heard in the following courtrooms:

• Felony DUI arraignments: Department 21 (4^th floor)
  Department 22 (4^th floor)
  Department 23 (4^th floor)

Arraignments at San Bernardino Courthouse for charges other than DUI are heard in the following courtrooms:

• Misdemeanor arraignments: Department 1 (1^st floor)
  Department 2 (1^st floor)
• Felony arraignments: Department 12 (3rd floor)
  Department 17 (3^rd floor-annex)
  Department 18 (3^rd floor-annex)
  Department 19 (3^rd floor-annex)

We advise everyone to arrive early for court, find his or her name on the court calendar, and check-in with the bailiff in the appropriate courtroom. You should be able to find your name on the list posted on or just outside of the courtroom doors.
